What's going on at the Dove?

 

Sports day.

The rain clouds threatened us, but it stayed dry!

Story Telling Cafe Performance and Competition winners!

Two writers (from years 3 and 4) were awarded for their brilliant stories at the annual story telling cafe event and children from years 1, 2, 3 and 4 performed one of our favourite stories.

The Grand Opening of the School Centenary Garden

The children, teachers and friends of the school have worked tirelessly and have made the garden of the school into a masterpiece.

Lichfield Cathedral Trip

The children in Owls and Eagles class spent a day at Lichfield Cathedral.  They explored the Cathedral with tour guides who helped them to learn all about St. Chad and the Chad Gospels.  The children were amazed at the size of the cathedral and how loud the organ was!

 

 

 

Lent Appeal

The annual Lent Appeal was the most successful so far in Dove's history of running this fabulous activity.

The children, planned, organised, priced and delivered an afternoon of games, activities and competitions to raise money for charity.

This school council held votes in each classroom and have decided to donate the money to Hearing Dogs and Clik Sargeant

The Willow Structure

The children have been hard at work in the outdoors once again, this time in the playground.

Digging Day

In December the children, parents and teachers of the school started the second phase of the centenary garden developments!

The children arrived at school with a change of clothes and a tool for digging and throughout the entire day work was carried out to level and clear the garden area.

Everyone had a great (and muddy) time, everyone stayed nice and warm with the amount of work that was done!

This year the school enters its 100th year of existence, having been built in 1913!

To celebrate this fact the outside areas of the school are undergoing changes...

Our most recent Ofsted visit was graded Good with Outstanding features. Our staff and pupils are very proud of the achievement and continue to work to improve the teaching and learning of each and every pupil that attends the Dove.
